Matt Magloughlin

Growing up in Southern California set me in one of the centers of the Mountain Bike industry. Racing from the time I was 13-22, I was riding before suspension hit the market. Transplanting to North Carolina, I am very pleased to see the cycling industry growing and a community of Road, Mountain and, Tri-Athletes flourishing.

After having Professional Careers for 13 years as an Independent Contractor, I am now able to come back to my passion of bicycles and can’t think of a better place to be than Spirited Cyclist.

Currently Riding a Cannondale Six13, (With Bontrager Wheels LOL Ty delete this parenthesised section), and waiting patiently on the all new 2012 Giant Composite XTC 29ers to be available.

Thomas Klinkman

I started road biking in 1984. I was 14 years old then and lived in Michigan. My Aunt had given me a Trek road bike so that I could ride with her. Within a couple years I got my drivers license and quit riding for awhile. Then in 1994 I had a roommate that left a Schwinn High Plains. I decided to take it to Pontiac Lake Recreation Area for my first mountain bike ride ever and my first time back on a bike in 8 years. I thought I was going to die! I haven’t looked back since.

I began working in bike shops in 1988. When I wasn’t in a bike shop I was honing my skills as a metal fabricator. Now I’m married to my wonderful wife Jessica, with our young son Torin and we enjoy riding bicycles as a family.

I prefer to ride on dirt but since that isn’t as accessible as pavement I’ve been putting more miles on my road bike.

Charles Robinson

I am Charles Robinson and have been riding mountain bikes for 20 years. I grew up in northern NJ, where there were plenty of places to ride some nice singletrack (believe it or not). I transferred to UNC Charlotte back in 1996 to finish my degree in Mechanical Engineering. I currently am employed at the Spirited Cyclist on a part time basis and enjoy wrenching on all kinds of things in my shop at my house as well. The feeling of personal achievement and health keeps me motivated to ride at least three times a week. I look forward to helping you out in the near future!

Ron Reding

I have been enjoying road cycling for the past 25 years. I recently semi-retired after working 40 years primarily in sales and marketing. I decided that during the 4th quarter of my life it was time to do something fun, fulfilling and all about bicycles. So in short order I ….

  • landed a part-time job at the new Davidson Spirited Cyclist Shop
  • began teaching studio cycling at the Lake Norman YMCA
  • and spend more quality time with my wife/soulmate L.A. riding our tandem or Trikkes together

We moved to Davidson 7 years ago and chose this location because of its reputation of being a walking and bicycling friendly community. I have two adult children and five grandchildren who live in Alpharetta, GA and Carbondale, CO. I could tell you volumes more about me, but I can assure you it would be more exciting if we were out riding our bikes. I love this quote from Albert Einstein, “Life is like riding a bicycle to keep your balance you must keep moving.” I invite you to come and join me for a spirited bike ride sometime soon.

Mathew Marsico
