Fix Your Flat – 24 Hours of Booty Fundraiser Update

The Davidson Spirited Cyclist shop hosted a Ladies Only, Fix Your Flat – Wine Tasting – 24 Hours of Booty fundraiser event last night. A total of 15 ladies showed up to learn how to fix their flat tire, change out tubes, and remount the wheels on their bikes.

Lake Norman Cottage co-hosted the event and provided several great wines for the Ladies to enjoy before and after the clinic.

Six volunteer members from the Spirited Cyclist Cycling Club participated in the event. Each volunteer worked with a small group of ladies and demonstrated best practices for changing out a tube, inspecting their tires for any damage, and repairing their flat. After watching, each lady took part in a hands on exercise by repairing their own flat, using CO2 inflators, etc.

The proceeds raised from this event will go to the 24 Hours of Booty / I Ride for Kim charity event. The team has just went over the %40 mark of their $10,000 fundraising goal.

Thank you to all of the ladies that attended the event. We truly hope that the workshop was beneficial for you. It always helps to be prepared for the dreaded flat tire. We hope to see you on the Ladies Only ride this Saturday in Davidson.

There will be a Ladies only Workshop / Fundraiser at the Davidson Shop on March 21st. This is a Fix Your Flat – Wine Tasting to benefit the 24 Hours Of Booty Charity on behalf of the Spirited Cyclist I Ride for Kim Booty team.

Congratulations Malia & Taylor – The Xtreme Girls!

The Spirited Cyclist congratulates Malia Ellington (Cornelius) & Taylor Hughes (Denver) of the Xtreme Kids Triathlon team. Malia and Taylor each qualified for the USAT Youth Elite National Championship which will be in Ohio in August.

Malia placed 3rd and Taylor placed 13th in the Clermont Draft Legal Challenge in Clermont, FL.

For those of you that don’t know, both Taylor and Malia have been riding with our Saturday morning group out of the Davidson shop. Both young ladies have been really improving their cycling skills and their results speak volumes!

Davidson – Bike Friendly Town???

Spirited Cycling – I Ride for Kim & the 24 Hours of Booty Ride

The 2012 24 Hours of Booty Ride opened for registration on Jan. 4th. The Spirited Cyclist Cycling Club has a team entered and already well on it’s way to achieving the team fundrasing goal of $10,000.

24 Hours of Booty is The Official 24 Hour Cycling Event of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The Charlotte ride also benefits various local organizations.

Yes, this is a full 24 hour ride. The event is held near the Dilworth area and literally 1000′s of riders show up each year to show their support by participating.

We invite you to follow along with the Spirited Cycling & the I Ride for Kim team. The team is already training and making preparations for the event.

The Sprited Cyclist – Davidson Halloween March – Bike Winner

Every Halloween, the town of Davidson, NC hosts an event called Halloween March. Kids from the local community gather at the town hall and march down Main St. trick or treating with the local businesses.

This was our first opportunity to be involved in this activity at the Spirited Cyclist of Davidson. We gave out a lot of candy and also allowed kids to enter to win a bike. Hundreds of kids entered to win with the help of their parents.

The Staff at The Spirited Cyclist would like to congratulate Kate S. (4yrs old) of Davidson, NC.
Kate, her parents and Grandparents came into the shop and picked up her new pink Raleigh bike today. Kate rode about 50 laps around the store smiling the whole time.

Kate, we hope you enjoy your new bike. Please be safe and always wear your helmet. Come back and see us soon.
